Natural Health Centre (Ltd) At LIVING ENERGY Natural Health Centre, we do our best to ensure that we provide you with the highest quality of herbal and natural products. Our tinctures are specially formulated by Dr. Radka Ruzicka, HD(RHom), B.MSc., NNCP. All of our tinctures are designed to gently support and cleanse your body, allowing your body's natural healing abilities to step in and create balance where there was previously imbalance, or "dis-ease". Although many herbs are safe to take during pregnancy, there are some that are not. If you are pregnant and wish to take any of the LIVING ENERGY Herbal Tonics, please contact Radka during business hours, or please consult with your practitioner first. If you are serious about your health and well-being, it is important to make dietary and life-style changes to support your body. Although taking herbal and nutritional products is a step in the right direction, these products alone may not be enough to provide your body with the means to heal itself of dis-ease. Please keep in mind that the tonics provided here are designed for general use only and are not to replace any prescribed medication you may be taking unless your qualified health-care provider has instructed you to do so. If you are currently taking prescribed medication, or your health needs are more complex than what is considered general, we strongly encourage you to seek the help of a qualified Natural Medicine Practitioner, Naturopath or Herbalist. Most medicinal herbs have a cleansing action on the body in some way. Therefore, if you are on an herbal program, it is important for you to know that your body may experience a "HEALING CRISIS". What this means is that your body is eliminating toxins and requires you to stop and rest so that the cleansing process can be completed properly. At LIVING ENERGY we believe that a person can detoxify their body gently and effectively, with little or no discomfort. If you follow the recommended doses and DO NOT exceed them, it is unlikely that you will experience any outward signs of cleansing. However, if your body is quite toxic (usually due to past history of chronic illness and use of prescribed medicines), you may experience some signs of detoxification, or mild "healing crisis." If you do experience a healing crisis, rest assured that it will only be present for no more than 10 days, often less, depending on level of toxicity in your body. The most common signs of detoxification are: * Feeling more tired - this feeling is short-lived an energy levels return quickly, generally more improved than before. * Skin eruptions - acne and pimples are most common. If you have a past history of eczema, it may return for a short while (if it does, DO NOT use steroid-based creams - they will only suppress it and it will come back later). Itchy skin anywhere on your body is a sign that your body is detoxifying. It is highly unlikely that you are having an allergic reaction. * Changes in bowel function - may or may not occur. The most common experience is looseness. * Headache - may occur if you are very toxic. It is generally mild and can last up to 4 days. If you do experience a headache, do your best to stay away from any headache-relief medicine. If you experience a healing crisis, DO NOT take more of your herbs. Instead, support the cleansing process by drinking lots of water, eating nutritious foods, and getting adequate sleep and rest. If symptoms persist for longer than 14 days, or you develop vomiting or severe diarrhea, STOP the herbal program and contact LIVING ENERGY (or your health-care provider). If you have more specific health concerns, that require a more personalized herbal program, it is strongly recommended that you consult with Dr. Ruzicka, or see a qualified practitioner to ensure all of your health needs and concerns are met. All of our herbs are safe, and effective for most people. We will remind you, again, that none of the Living Energy Herbal Tonics are designed to treat or cure. Our "C-V Tonic" ("cardio-vascular tonic") improves circulation throughout the body and is especially designed to support the cardio-vascular system (the heart and blood vessels). It is therefore recommended for poor circulation, cold hands and feet, angina, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. It is also very supportive during times of cold and 'flu, especially for initial onset and when marked by chills and fever. Ingredients: Cayenne, Garlic, Linden, Hawthorne berry, White willow bark, Bilberry, Mistletoe leaf, Prickly ash Dose: Adults: 50 drops, 2 times daily, taken in a small amount of water. We recommend starting with 25 drops twice daily, then gradually increasing your dose until you reach 50 drops twice daily. Note: If you are currently taking heart medication and or prescribed blood thinners (e.g. coumadin), please consult with your practitioner before taking this product. Avoid during pregnancy. This formula provides powerful, yet gentle, support to the immune system. This makes it particulary useful for infection and inflammation anywhere in the body, and to help ease symptoms of colds, 'flu, and allergies. It is also recommended for most any condition where the immune system has been compromised and requires support. Ingredients: Echinacea angustifolia, Echinacea purpurea, Astragalus, Reishi mushroom, Usnea, Myrrh, Desert parsley, Wild Indigo, Cayenne, Goldenseal herb* (* also available without Goldenseal, on request) Dose: Adults: 50-100 drops, 2-4 times daily, taken in a small amount of water or into a cup of soothing herbal tea. Children doses are taken 2-4 times daily, taken in diluted juice or water: Age 2-5, 3-5 drops Age 6-12, 8-15 drops Age 12 and over, 50 drops Note: For chronic conditions, e.g. asthma or allergies, Immune Support can be taken for extended periods of time. However, we suggest that you please consult with a qualified Natural Medicine practitioner to ensure your condition is being properly addressed. A further note that this product does not replace antibiotic medication during severe acute infection, therefore we strongly suggest you consult with a qualified practitioner if your symptoms fail to subside, or worsen. If you are pregnant or lactating (nursing), or taking prescribed medication, please consult with a qualified practitioner before taking this product. A special herbal tonic to support the entire digestive system (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon). Free of irritating laxatives! Instead, it supports the natural peristaltic (wave-like) movement of the intestinal tract, thereby promoting natural and regular elimination. We recommend this tonic for conditions such as excessive gas (burping and flatulence), nausea, heart-burn, irritable bowel, constipation, "irregularity", and malabsorption. Ingredients: Dandelion root, Oregon grape, Yellowdock, Burdock, Meadowsweet, Lemon balm, Cats Claw herb, Scullcap, Peppermint, Ginger, Centaury Dose: Adults: 50-100 drops, 2-3 times daily, taken in a small amount of water before, during or just after a meal. Note: To be avoided if you are pregnant or lactating (nursing). Care if taking some prescribed medication (check qith your practitoner before taking this product). If you need digestive support, please consult with a qualified practitioner before taking this product. This herbal formula is designed to relax the nervous system, allowing you to get a restful sleep. It is non-drowsy and will leave you feeling refreshed in the morning. It can be safely used for conditions such as insomnia, inability to fall asleep at night, inability to stay asleep at night, and any other sleep condition resulting from an over-worked or weakened nervous system. Also for "highly strung" nervous conditions - when one is unable to rest properly. Ingredients: Passionflower, Hops, Skullcap, Chamomile, Oat straw, Wild lettuce, California poppy (opiate-free) Dose: Adults: 50-100 drops, at bed-time. ** An extra dose of 50 drops can be taken if wakefulness occurs in the middle of the night. The "Sleep and Rest" tonic can be taken on it's own for mild cases of sleeplessness or, for severe or chronic sleep problems, consider the following program to ensure you get a good night sleep: 1. A cup of "Sleepy-time" tea or equivalent, 1 hour before bed. 2. "Sleep and Rest" tonic 20-30 minutes before bed. 3. A high quality calcium/magnesium, available at good health stores, at a dose of 1200-1500mg, taken with the "Sleep and Rest" tonic. Note: If you are pregnant or lactating (nursing), or taking prescribed medication, please consult with a qualified practitioner before taking this product. A special herbal tonic to gently cleanse the body of uric acid - a by-product of protein digestion that, if not eliminated properly from the body, can contribute to development of arthritis in the body. This tonic is recommended for arthritic conditions marked by painful swelling in the fingers and/or joints; gout. It will also help alleviate aching muscles and joints. Ingredients: Horsetail, Cats claw, Meadowsweet, White willow, Cleavers, Dandelion leaf, Dandelion root, Stinging nettle, Fringe tree, Cayenne. Dose: Adults, 50-100 drops, 2-3 times daily, taken in a small amount of water before, during or just after a meal. To successfully eliminate arthritis, one must adjust their diet in order to remove acid-forming foods from their system. Our skin is the largest organ of detoxification in our body. When the liver, digestive system and lymphatic system are working hard at detoxifying the body, it is not uncommon for the skin to assist. Toxins are eliminated through pores and may appear as acne or rashes. This wonderful herbal tonic helps clear the skin by supporting the body in its detoxifying abilities, literally helping the body cleanse itself from the inside out. We recommend this tonic be used for all minor, or acute, skin conditions including acne, pimples, eczema and psoriasis. For severe cases of eczema or psoriasis, more specific herbs may be required therefore it is strongly suggested that you consult with a qualified practitioner. Ingredients: Burdock, Dandelion root, Yellowdock, Violet leaves, Milk thistle, Echinacea root, Blueflag, Wild indigo Dose: Adults: 50 drops, 2-3 times daily, taken in a small amount of water before, during or just after a meal. Note: To be avoided if you are pregnant or lactating (nursing); care if taking some prescribed medication (check with your practitioner). "Respi-Care" is a unique formula blended specifically to support the entire respiratory system (sinuses, throat, and lungs). We have two formulas available; one for acute (initial onset) episodes, the other for more chronic problems, such as asthma, allergies and bronchial conditions. We have two "Respi-Care" products available: The "Respi-Care" acute-care formula is designed for initial stages of any respiratory condition and is especially helpful in alleviating signs and symptoms of cold and flu, especially at early onset. This formula is designed to be taken on an "as needed" basis for conditions such as hay-fever, bronchitis, sinus irritation and/or inflammation, and sore throat. For more chronic conditions, we suggest you use our "chronic care" formula. Ingredients (acute care formula): Lungwort, Fenugreek, Elecampane, Coltsfoot herb, Mullein, Golden rod, Marshmallow root, Yarrow, Goldenseal, Cayenne This formula is designed for more chronic respiratory conditions (i.e. conditions of the respiratory system that "linger" or return on a regular basis); including asthma, allergies, bronchitis, sinus infections, cough. We recommend this formula for chronic coughs, asthma, allergies, bronchitis, and sinus infection. We suggest that this formula be taken long-term (at least 4-6 months). Ingredients (chronic care formula): Lungwort, Pleurisy root, Coltsfoot herb, Elecampane, Mullein, Marshmallow root, Balm of Gilead, Fenugreek, Echinacea root, Goldenseal, Cayenne Adult Dose (for both formulas): 50-100 drops, 2-4 times daily, taken in a small amount of water or into a cup of soothing herbal tea. Children's Dose for "Acute Care" formula: Children doses are taken 2-4 times daily, taken in diluted juice or water. Age 2-5, 3-5 drops Age 6-12, 8-15 drops Age 12 and over, 50 drops Note: Please consult with a qualified practitioner before using "Chronic Care" formula with children under age 10.
